Hudson Profile

Poems

Hudson came into this world as an innocent child;
healthy, happy, fair tempered and mild.

He melts all hearts with his big, baby blues;
his love, his smiles and angelic hues.

Blessed with a sister, beautiful and wise;
Abella set high standards to which Hudson would rise.

He laughs, he dances, the joy he can share;
makes everyone want more, makes everyone care.

In your infanthood you’ve been given a man’s job;
to save the world from a disease that robs.

An unfair battle that you should not have to fight;
a battle you’ve taken on like a historic knight.

Hudson, you’re a warrior, fighting uncharted waters;
saving all of our sons and our daughters.

Hudson your fight will not go in vain;
we will not forget your love or your pain.

We’ve seen what a man in a child’s body can do;
the world has changed because of you.

The world needs you Hudson, please Lord keep him here I ask;
the joy he brings and the pain we mask.

Heaven you’ve set up the basketball courts;
the soccer fields and other sports.

Please keep him here, make that appointment for later;
the world can’t bear his absence, a crater.

When you have him, please Heaven, hold him with care;
He needs his rest, he fought the lion’s share.

A tribute with love to a warrior hero, Hudson Wyss

This poem was written by a dear friend of ours, and mother of a brain tumor patient.
Thank you Shadiah for your love, knowledge and thoughtful expression.

To my dearest Family, some things I'd like to say.
But first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from Heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here there's no more tears of sadness; Here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember I am with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through.
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I Welcome You."
"It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here so badly, you are part of my plan.
There is so much that we can do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the days chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you.... in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years.
Because you're only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry, it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
If I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is over,
I'm closer to you now, then I ever was before.
There are rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
But together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too;
That as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who is in sorrow and pain;
Then you can say to God at night...."My day was not in vain.
And now I am contented.... that my life was worthwhile.
Knowing as I passed along the way I made somebody smile."
So if you meet somebody who is sad and low;
Just lend a hand to pick them up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go... from that body to be free.
Remember you're not going... you're coming here with me.

FIX YOU by Coldplay

When you try your best but you don’t succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can’t sleep
Stuck in reverse

When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something that you can’t replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

High up above or down below
When you’re too in Love to let it go
If you never try then you’ll never know
Just what you’re worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from all my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

He cried hard one night he was in so much pain,
He was too young to speak, it was in his brain.
Pressure from a tumor growing,
And the hurt so bad, it started showing.
A mad rush to the hospital, only to find,
A mass, a tumor,and rare in its kind.
Life is halted, the world stands still,
How do we take on this upward hill?
No time to think, to grasp, to cope,
Search for the best doctors to find our hope.
Take the tumor out, and in this new world submerge,
Into oncology, where tears are always on the verge.
Brain surgery, Chemo, tubes, blood tests, and scans,
Tells us Hudson is a fighter and beat this he can.
Months of travel, treatment and trials,
He goes home round one with a smile.

Shortly thereafter, Hudson wakes and wobbles some,
An ER scan makes us all feel numb.
This invasion is back, and wants to fight,
The doctors set up a regiment that has some might.
Hudson takes it, standing strong,
Brain surgery, drugs, the poking, and nights are long.
Tandem transplants, heavy drugs all in one shot,
Then focalized radiation, only the best is sought.
More surgery, chemo, blood tests, and scans,
Tells us Hudson’s a fighter and beat this he can.
Months of travel, treatment and trials,
He goes home round two with a wavering smile.

Then yet again the sleep sets in,
An image tells us it’s back again.
Travel across country, this time cutting edge,
To find a cure, try anything his parent’s pledge.
To save this boy, this fighter, this man,
If anyone can survive the odds, we know Hudson can.
The wait for the blood counts to recover,
But numbers on the low side continue to hover.
The counts come up and the new trial is started,
It’s a new course, with waters uncharted.
Surgery, tubes, tests, travel and scans,
Tells us Hudson can do this, we know he can.
This is a new page, and a new trial,
Hudson goes home with yet still with a lingering smile.

The counts dip again, Hudson’s bone marrow is checked,
MDS set in his body and the plan for the new trial is wrecked.
The City of Hope said they found many to match,
Good health for Hudson is not far, close enough to catch.
A promise made, for you, sweet Hudson, only the best,
We will not stop, until a cure is found, we will not rest.
A scan for the marrow said something was not right.
This tumor is back again, we’re told a losing fight.
The surgery, tubes, tests, travel and scans,
Tell us if you can’t do it, then no one can.
This disease robs the most precious from us without shame,
Last round, Hudson goes home feeling strong, but it’s not the same.

Hudson, no one else could fight like you,
For all your struggles we believed in a win so true,
Where you could go home, live and be,
Explore your life, an example for others to see.
But this was not the destiny picked for you,
I can’t make sense of it, I have no clue.
Each day you are here the world is blessed,
We function, we thrive, we are at our best.
The world loves you, Sweet Hudson, we love you so,
The boundaries of this earth can’t stop that love to grow.
Our love will reach you no matter where you are,
A sincere, powerful love will reach you no matter how far.

We love you dear Hudson, where ever you go, where ever you are,
Your fight has stopped, but never our love, Hudson, no matter how far.
